Description

Tonsils are lymphoid tissues present inside the oral cavity which help to fight infection. Recurrent infection of the tonsils can lead to sore throat, throat pain, fever, difficulty in swallowing, snoring. Recurrent infection of tonsils mandates removal which can be done by various methods including cold instruments, coblation, electrocautery, laser etc. Other indications of tonsillectomy include Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Tonsillar stones and Tonsillar Malignancies.
